What This Engagement Covers

Most OT incidents involve a person doing something ordinary — plugging in a laptop, approving a remote session, opening an attachment on an engineering workstation. Controls help, but the people on shift decide the outcome more often than the tooling does.

Training here is practical and specific to plant work, not repurposed corporate awareness material. Tabletop exercises then rehearse a realistic scenario with operations and security together, which is usually the first time both groups discover how differently they would each respond.

Who should attend?

For awareness sessions, anyone who touches the OT environment — operators, control engineers, maintenance staff and the contractors who work on site. Tabletop exercises are most valuable when plant operations and the security team attend together, along with whoever can authorise a shutdown.

How is this different from our IT security awareness training?

The scenarios and the consequences. Corporate awareness training is built around phishing, credentials and data loss. On the plant floor the material has to cover engineering workstations, vendor laptops, removable media and remote support sessions, where the outcome is a stopped process or a safety event rather than a data breach.

Do you deliver on site?

Yes. Awareness sessions and tabletop exercises are usually more effective delivered at the plant, with the people who actually work there and around shift patterns rather than against them.
